Dear Sirs, Friends and Colleagues,

The energy market in the European Union and Poland undergoes successive changes bringing its functioning on competitive terms closer, despite rising difficulties. In 2009 the economical crisis piled up with difficulties in liberalisation of this area of trade and changing (increasing) energy prices in Poland. However, it must be emphasized that in 2009 and at the beginning of 2010 several significant legal and formal documents were adopted, which will continue to have a great impact on the energy market, such as:
  • the adoption by the European Parliament and the Council on 13 July 2009 of the Directive 2009/72/EC concerning common rules for the internal market in electricity and repealing the Directive 2003/54/EC;

  • the adoption by the European Parliament and the Council on 23 April 2009 of the Directive 2009/28/EC on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources amending and subsequently repealing Directives 2001/77/EC and 2003/30/EC;

  • the adoption by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on 8 January 2010 of the law amending the Act on energy law and other law acts;

  • the adoption by the Council of Ministers of Poland on 10 November 2009 Poland's Energy Policy until 2030 with Annexes.

For almost three years energy has been serving as a merchandise and object of unlimited trade subject to its current supply conditions. Despite the fact that since 1 July 2007 every customer has in theory the right to choose the supplier, as practice reveals, the amount of customers benefiting from the TPA principle is still very low. However, significant increase of the amount of customers benefiting from the TPA principle from the enterprises group from 85 at the end of 2008 to 1537 at the end of 2009 is a positive sign. This fact has created and is still creating new courses of action for each of the energy companies trading energy, as well as all the end customers. This also generates the rise of new challenges for the participants, exhibitors and the Organizing Committee of the annual Energy Fair. One of the major tasks for the Organizing Committee, apart from presenting the changes in the courses of action on the energy market, is a discussion on the subjects related to the new role of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office, the role and the scope of specific areas of energy trade, issues related to competitiveness and the energy usage effectiveness (initiated on the last year's Trade).

Organized for the seventh time running, the Fair serves as a unique stage allowing to meet all the subjects participating in the Polish energy market. The idea to organize the Energy Fair was conceived in 2004, which was then the only venture of that kind in Poland, the one, that in the long shot was to give participants the opportunity to present their offers, perform business talks and sign contracts.

The Polish Chamber of Industrial Energetics and Energy Customers and Association of Energy Trading are privileged to invite you to the:

VII Energy Fair

which will take place in Jachranka on 21 - 22 October 2010 at at the "Warszawianka" Congress Centre

We anticipate that this year’s event will arouse great interest within all groups of customers, serving as a platform for discussion, exchanging opinions and offers in the domain of the Polish energy market. Each year we encounter the increasing number of participants at the Fair. Following the formula of previous years we will provide you with both seminar and strictly trade sessions, which will allow you to become acquainted directly with the energy traders offers.

Once again we kindly invite You to participate in our event.

Yours faithfully,
